Earth Day Festival Booth 2024
Written By Jiwan Kim
On April 20th, the MyTwoCents members went to Hoboken to participate in their annual Earth Day Festival for the second time! It was super exciting to come to the festival with a fresh idea of what our mission was and what we wanted to sell at our booth. Our primary mission last year was to sell and promote our hand-made reusable menstrual pads. And despite some purchases from interested passersby, we weren’t satisfied with the impact we made through our booth. Therefore, we took a different approach to our booth this year! We decided to load our booth with many attractive products such as seed bombs, eco-friendly corn dish scrubbers, squid game snacks, button making, and pot painting. And through these attractive products we were able to get more people to come to our booth and more people to hear our mission. As we promoted our environmentally friendly products, we handed out flyers of QR codes that directed people to our website and our specific initiative, Pads4Change. Through these flyers, people were able to learn more about us and why we were at the Hoboken festival.
This year we had ten more members to help bring our vision to life and we did splendidly! With the money we raised in our booth, we will be able to pursue our larger plans for more generous donations to local communities in need and kickstart our initiative, Pads4Change, to phase 2! Our members learned to step outside of their comfort zones, bringing in interested patrons, educating people on our mission, and helping children with their crafts. Through our booth, we were able to make a larger impact in our community than we did last year! On to the next!
