MyTwoCents x Pray for Morocco

By Sophia Nam

On September 8, 2023, the Marrakesh-Safi earthquake with a magnitude of 6.8-6.9 hit Morocco, killing nearly 3,000 people and injuring about 5,600 people. The country is currently in economic despair with citizens who lost their homes, unable to access basic necessities. Pray for Morocco is a religious program in Morocco that is currently praying for all those affected by the recent earthquake and is encouraging and motivating citizens to keep hope and rebuild their lives from this tragedy. Through Chodae Community Church’s relations with My Two Cents and Pray for Morocco, we were able to connect with Pray for Morocco to provide 10,000 women’s menstrual pads as part of the relief package being sent to Morocco. From our first-ever international donation to Turkiye to our third international donation to Morocco, My Two Cents is constantly researching and expanding our global relations to reduce period poverty.
