MyTwoCents and Morocco
By Claire Lee
During the Memorial Day break of 2023, I was given the chance to attend a service trip with my church to Morocco. Hesitant at first, I was unsure if I was going to be much help and even considered giving my spot up for someone I thought would be more beneficial. However, I took the opportunity. The service trip itself was not related to the MyTwoCents Foundation but was rather planned by my local community church to lend an aiding hand to people with both physical and mental disabilities in Morocco. Knowing that people there, especially women, were not living easy lives, I decided to bring with me some reusable pads left over from the Earth Day Event. During this six-day trip, I was able to build relations with the Moroccan staff working with us and learn more about their lives. I ended up having the chance to give some of the staff members our reusable pads in hopes of a better, more hygienic way. Seeing the smiles and hearing the thank yous as they received the package made me realize that I was able to help these people. I am beyond thankful and thrilled to be able to provide such help to these people and to be a part of this bigger mission!
