The Significance: Access and Sustainability

The My 2Cents organization recognizes communities such as low-income, homeless, and those in Turkiye. Our organization works towards increasing access to women in need through numerous donations and raising awareness. The access to female sanitary products grows more important especially in a time where so many communities experience difficulties with affording the increasing costs. In addition, a study claims that more than 28,000 tonnes of female sanitary products are thrown to waste annually. Furthermore increasing the access to sanitary products also include the responsibility of promoting more eco-friendly lifestyles. Therefore, we have discussed the next steps in creating reusable fabric pads that can be used dozens of times more than a regular pad. These fabric pads will contribute to a lesser economic strain on young women while also considering the impact one-use pads have on the environment. Plus, they’re super cute!
